2012 WestFair

Another fair has to come to an end for us. I told myself I was going to blog daily for my kids but got to busy for that to happen LOL! My kids enjoy this week so much! We missed Mason since he went with my sister to Watkins for the weekend:( Mikayla and Makenzie participated in static exhibits, did a working exhibit, table setting, clothing selection, $15 challenge and dog show. Kenzie also helped her friend show her chickens. Mikayla spent the most time at fair not ever wanting to leave. Thank goodness she is old enough to leave her there with her friends! These are just a few of many pictures from the week.
Oh and here is the Ribbon count for the week: Mikayla-5 purple, 3 blue and 1 Reserve Grand Champion ($15 Clothing Challenge). Makenzie-5 Purple, 3 blue, and 1 Grand Champion (1st Year Dog Showmanship).

Okoboji Day 4

We spent the day at Arnold's Park. It was soooo hot but the kids did not care! Mason enjoyed all the kiddie rides except the roller coaster. We finished the day with the Maritime Museum, which is an antique boat museum.

Day 1-3 in Okoboji

Day three is coming to a close and we have had so much fun! We have spent alot of time on the water boating, swimming and fishing. Tonight was exciting fishing for the kiddos because Chris caught a large pike!!  It has been great to relax and enjoy time with the kids. I have played many games of UNO, which has been my favorite game since I was a child.

Sara and Katie Here For The Weekend!

What a fun but exhausting weekend! My nieces, Sara and Katie, came and spent the weekend with us. What's 2 more right!?! Chris worked this weekend so it was just me and 6 kids. I survived!!
On Saturday we went swimming at the YMCA, to Christy Creme for ice cream, and had a movie night. On Sunday we went to church, lunch, and went ice skating at the MAC.

Her are some pictures from our afternoon of ice skating:)

Are we done yet?

Mikayla teaching skating and as you can see Megan is in the midst of falling!

Katie not wanting to let go of the wall:)

Megan stepping off the ice for a break.

Mason really wanted to skate. He kept pointing at his feet and to the ice, so instead he had to settle for watching and eating a snack:)

Mikayla and Sara. Very proud of themselves! They wanted to make sure I took a picture of them in the middle of the ice so that everyone knew they were the best skaters of the bunch:)

Sara skating by herself. Yeah!!

Mikayla helping Katie some more and trying to get her away form the wall.

Zamboni time!

Megan finally letting go of the wall, but stayed very close just in case!
